Cousins Maine Lobster adds second food truck in northwest Pennsylvania
Cousins Maine Lobster, a US-based food truck and restaurant franchise, has expanded its presence in northwest Pennsylvania with the launch of its second truck.
The move is a response to increasing demand in the region, particularly in the Pittsburgh area, where the brand has been operating for several years.
The expansion is spearheaded by husband-and-wife team Savas and Victoria Alkoc, who aim to serve a broader community more frequently, from Erie to Centre County and Penn State.
Cousins Maine Lobster can now engage with new neighbourhood hot spots, create local job opportunities and introduce their signature dishes to more seafood enthusiasts.
Cousins Maine Lobster co-owner Savas stated: "We've built our business from the ground up, starting with one truck and expanding into multiple markets while staying true to our commitment to quality and service.
"After receiving such a warm welcome in Pittsburgh, we knew this region was the perfect place to add another truck and continue growing with Cousins Maine Lobster. There's nothing quite like the experience of enjoying real Maine lobster, and we're excited to bring it to even more communities across northwest Pennsylvania and beyond."
Since the introduction of the first food truck in 2017, the brand has grown to ten trucks across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Ohio, and a brick-and-mortar location in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
The menu includes the fan favourites lobster rolls, bisque, New England clam chowder, tots [small deep-fried potato cylinders] and whoopie pies [mound-shaped pieces of cakes with filling in between].
Cousins Maine Lobster offers a gourmet fast-casual seafood experience through its food trucks, restaurants and Shore-to-Door service, which delivers sustainably sourced lobsters nationwide.
The brand, founded in 2012, gained widespread attention after an appearance on the US TV show Shark Tank and a partnership with Barbara Corcoran.
Cousins Maine Lobster is launching a new Garlic Butter Lobster Roll on 21 March 2025, adding a twist to their classic dish.
In June 2024, veteran franchisees Yunus and Thameem Shahul took charge of Cousins Maine Lobster's expansion in South Florida, covering Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Florida Keys.
